Lamardi Gras is a celebration with a local flare to benefit the Lamar Volunteer Fire Department. This annual event occurs the second weekend of February at Lamar Volunteer Fire Department located at 302 Bois D’arc, Rockport, TX 78382. Lamar is located just nine miles north of Rockport on Highway 35.

The celebration starts Friday evening at 5pm and concludes Saturday night at 11pm. Activities include a parade, live music, cold beer, themed food, auctions, casinos, and more.

All proceeds go toward Lamar fire department facilities, equipment and training. The Lamar Fire Department is 100% volunteer and is one of three departments in the Aransas County fire fighting team.
