Rockport Aquarium Rebuild Plans at Rockport Harbor
Jun 15, 2022
Plans are in place for the Rockport Aquarium building to be rebuilt at Rockport Harbor in the Cultural Arts District! The Aquarium Building was destroyed by Hurricane Harvey in August 2017. The Aquariums’ famous eel, “Marley”, survived the Hurricane and has been very happy at it’s temporary home at the Texas State Aquarium in Corpus Christi, Texas.
Dr. Christopher Mace, President, Board of Directors, presented plans to Aransas County Commissioners June 13th showing the new building layout and amenities. Due to material delivery uncertainties, a target start build date is not available as of this writing.
