Rockport, Texas – (April 22, 2019) Rockport Cultural Arts District (RCAD) will host the 2019 Rockport Kite Festival a FREE family event on April 27th and 28th from 10 am to 5 pm at the Festival Grounds at Rockport Harbor. The festival will host professional Kite Flying Team End of the Line, world-famous kiteboarder Rocky Chatwell and crew, a children’s tent full of kid’s activities, an amateur kite flying field for anyone to come fly kites, food trucks, music, and more.

From kite flying to food and entertainment there will be something for everyone to do” said RCAD Executive Director Hannah Miller. Make sure to pack a blanket or chair to sit and watch the performances.

  • Kite Boarders – North American Kite-Boarding champion Rocky Chatwell and crew will be demonstrating their sport in the Rockport Ski Basin throughout the weekend.
  • Children’s Tent – The Rockport Center for the Arts is hosting their free family event from 10 am to 4 pm each day at the festival. Children will be able to assemble and decorate kites for FREE.
